Virginias gynecologist charged with aggravated battery

VIRGINIA (AP) A Virginia physician charged with attempted aggravated battery of a woman who has since died has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say Michael T. Adams, 54, of Westfield, Virginia, assaulted Jennifer Davis, 41, after the woman was allegedly unable to reach a phone during a sexual encounter.

Adams was also charged with domestic battery.

Adams’ attorney did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment on Tuesday.

He has been charged with a felony count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Davis died last week at a hospital.
