What is the Cardiotocographgy (CTG)?
It is a machine with 2 probes that can be put on the pregnant’s abdomen to transmit the fetal heart beats and the uterine contractions to a screen and then the machine can print a chart for these findings to monitor the fetal status and the maternal contractions
What are the benefits from its use?
- This device can monitor the fetal health status through a maternal abdominal probe which draws a diagram of the fetal pulse.
- This device also can measure the rate and strength of the uterine contractions during normal labor, and thus it enable us to recognize the preterm labor contractions.
